In 1996, Eileen Davidson first appeared in the role of Susan Banks on Days of Our Lives. This was her second character on DAYS, having joined the show in 1993 as Kristen DiMera. Susan was introduced into the storyline when Stefano hired her to impersonate Kristen and carry a child that Kristen (who had recently miscarried) would raise alongside John Black. Davidson remained in the role until 1998 but has returned on occasion to reprise it. Stacy Haiduk, who now plays Kristen, has also played Susan.

In 2005, Laura Wright debuted as General Hospital's Carly. She was the fourth actress to play the role, succeeding Sarah Brown, Tamara Braun and Jennifer Bransford. Carly was Wright's third soap role; she had previously played Ally Rescott on Loving and The City and Cassie Layne on Guiding Light. She mused to Soap Opera Digest upon her 10th anniversary in 2014, "If the role had been offered to me before, I wouldn’t have felt like I could do it. I couldn’t have left Loving and gone on to play Carly; I needed to have my time on Guiding Light." When she accepted the job, she recalled, I felt like it was perfect timing. I understood her intensity. I understood her fight for love and family.”

In 2014, after Nina Reeves (Michelle Stafford) induced her labor with designs on kidnapping the baby, Ava Jerome (Maura West) gave birth to Avery on General Hospital. Ava's pregnancy had already been fraught, as she didn't know who had impregnated her: Morgan Corinthos or his father, Sonny Corinthos. (The baby turned out to be Sonny's.) Not only that, but while Ava was with child, Sonny learned that Ava was the cold-blooded killer who had done in his high school sweetheart, Connie Falconeri — and Sonny informed Ava that he planned to kill her once she gave birth. After the baby was born, Nina took her and fled to Canada with Franco. They were eventually tracked down and little Avery was safely returned to Port Charles.

In 2015, Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) and Aiden Jennings (Daniel Cosgrove) said, “I do” on Days of Our Lives. However, Kayla dismissed her mom's claims. Aiden, who was having disturbing fantasies about killing his bride, tried to set his dark thoughts aside. He and Hope exchanged tender vows and were pronounced husband and wife.

In 2015, Bold and Beautiful's Nicole Avant (Reign Edwards) got an earful from her parents, Julius and Vivienne, who intervened as she was poised to undergo a procedure to serve as a surrogate for her sister and brother-in-law, Maya (Karla Mosley) and Rick Forrester (Jacob Young). But even as Maya and Rick gave Nicole an out to change her mind, Nicole was determined to proceed and the procedure was conducted. Maya was overwhelmed with emotion, thanking her sister and husband. "Never in my wildest dreams did I think a day like this would come, and now, thanks to both of you, I get to have every one of my dreams come true," she gushed. "I love you so much."
