In 1990, Billy Warlock (pictured with Charlotte Ross as Eve Donovan) reprised the role of Days of Our Lives's Frankie Brady. Warlock had originally played the character from 1986-87. When Frankie returned, his true identity was revealed as Francois Von Leuschner, the brother of Katerine Von Leuschner (better known as Carly Manning). Lawrence Alamain was holding Frankie hostage, hoping to exchange him for the Von Leuschner fortune. Frankie was rescued and returned to Salem, still harboring feelings for his former sweetie, Jennifer Horton. But her heart was with Jack Deveraux, so Frankie moved on to Eve.

In 2009, One Life To Live's Dorian held a mass public event for same-sex weddings, including hers to Amelia (Tia Dionne Hodge). During a tight mayoral race against Viki, Dorian wanted to get the more liberal voters on her side, so she asked David Vickers, who was acting as her campaign manager at the time, to pretend he was gay. He refused, so Dorian hired Amelia to replace him. At a press conference, Amelia announced that she was a lesbian, and reporters accused Dorian of exploiting her employee. Ms. Lord then declared that she and Amelia were engaged. At a mass commitment ceremony, the two were promised to one another. As for how the union turned out, well, Dorian won the election by default after Viki withdrew from the race. Then, at the swearing-in ceremony, Dorian was arrested for signing documents legalizing same-sex marriage. After being released from jail, Dorian planned to legalize the union, but learned that Amelia and her psychic lover, Delphina, had reunited, so she tore up their marriage license.

In 2009 on General Hospital, a pregnant Carly Jacks (Laura Wright, r.) regained consciousness after the vehicle Claudia Zacchara (Sarah Brown) was driving crashed during a storm. Claudia, who had taken Carly hostage, remained unconscious, and Carly managed to get out of the car. But she was hit with a contraction as soon as she tried to flee from her abductor. She managed to make her way through the woods to a cabin, where she got a fire started. Then Claudia burst through the door, making Carly's predicament even worse!

Her departure from the show was said to be budget-dictated, and set the stage for her return to GH early the next year. Insiders told Soap Opera Digest regarding Francis's Y&R exit, ""Maria [Arena Bell, former executive producer/head writer] brought her on at a very high rate," says one. "It didn't make financial sense to keep her." Another added, "Genie was well-liked around here. She will be missed."

She pulled back, citing his lingering feelings for his ex-wife, Blair. She stated that she didn't want to be a rebound girl, to which he responded, "I -- you know, for months now, you've been telling me that I need to start over and I need to make a new start with someone else.
