Reeling since she stopped taking her bipolar medication, Sharon appears to have killed Heather on Young and Restless. Then she dragged her lifeless body to her car and dumped it in the river and framed Daniel for the murder. Now Christine and Phyllis have teamed up to prove her guilt. While this is not the first time Sharon has committed a felony or misdemeanor, she has a pretty impressive track record at beating criminal charges (including some she did nothing to deserve). Here’s a look back at some of her memorable brushes with the law, and how she triumphed in the end.
Larceny
In 2009, Sharon began experiencing blackouts and stealing items around Genoa City. Among the places from which she shoplifted was Fenmore’s, and she kept the items tucked away in a box in her hotel room. A jealous Phyllis, having discovered from Nick that he’d had sex with Sharon, came across her nemesis’s stash of stolen goods when she broke into Sharon’s room and ransacked the place. Before sneaking out, Phyllis anonymously phoned the police, who arrived on the scene and collected bags of evidence. When Sharon arrived, she was forced to admit she’d stolen the items. She was arrested and booked for vandalism and grand theft, though Jack bailed her out. But Phyllis eventually had a change of heart, asking that for Noah’s sake, Lauren (Fenmore’s proprietor) drop the charges again Sharon. In return, Sharon didn’t press charges against Phyllis. Later, during another blackout, Sharon swiped a ring from a jewelry store that looked like one Phyllis had received from Nick. She was arrested again but in lieu of going to jail, she was sent by the court to Fairview for psychiatric counseling.

Skye’s Murder
Adam was charged with killing his ex-wife, Skye, and Sharon’s attempt to clear his name backfired against her in 2010. Although Sharon tracked down a very much alive Skye in Hawaii and confronted her, things went awry when Skye accidentally fell into a volcano and perished. In 2011, Sharon was arrested for her murder. Believing in Sharon’s innocence, Adam helped her disappear after she was found guilty at trial. A fatal car crash involving a woman who’d earlier carjacked Sharon and stole her ID and jewelry led everyone to believe Sharon was dead. Sharon was eventually discovered alive, apprehended and brought back to Genoa City, where she was sentenced to 30 years in prison. Lucky for Sharon, Ronan and Phyllis found evidence proving that she was trying to save Skye, not kill her, and Sharon was set free.

Fraud And Conspiracy (Oh, And Arson, Too!)
Sharon found herself in the hot seat again when she was arrested for fraud and conspiracy — not to mention malfeasance and giving false statements to the police — after Victor suddenly disappeared in 2012. Married to Victor at the time, and having destroyed their prenup agreement before it could be filed, Sharon (secretly advised by Tucker) took over Newman Enterprises, while Nick and Victoria tried to stop her run as the company’s CEO. Victor eventually returned and made sure Sharon was ousted from the family business and his life and sicced the cops on her for her misdeeds. However, Tucker offered Beauty of Nature to Victor in exchange for him dropping the charges against Sharon, and it was a deal Victor couldn’t refuse (especially since he got a quickie annulment from Sharon as part of its terms). A vindictive and drunk Sharon, in the throes of a major breakdown, then burned down the main house on the Newman ranch in retaliation. Adam went to great lengths to conceal evidence of her culpability and provided her with an alibi. Victor did catch on to the elaborate cover-up, but made a deal with Adam not to press charges against Sharon.

More Murders
After Austin was killed in a suspicious car accident in 2015, Noah, Summer and Kevin caught Sharon with a laptop belonging to the deceased. She admitted that she’d revealed a damning Newman family secret to Austin in an interview and he’d refused to erase it. Sharon was anxious that she’d be framed for murder, and that fear came true when a tire iron with her fingerprints and Austin’s blood turned up in her home. Her peril compounded when Noah’s girlfriend, Courtney, was murdered, and the starburst necklace she’d been wearing popped up in the trunk of Sharon’s car. In short order, Sharon was arrested for both murders. Ultimately, Summer recalled seeing Det. Mark Harding at the cabin the night of Austin’s death and realized he killed both Austin and Courtney. Dylan, who had stood by Sharon’s side, tracked down Harding and the police followed. He was exposed as the real killer and shot dead during an altercation with Paul, and the charges against Sharon were dropped.

Multiple Crimes J.T.’s ‘Murder’ Cover-Up
After Nikki whacked J.T. over the head with a fireplace poker to stop him from attacking Victoria, he collapsed and was presumed dead in 2018. Sharon conspired with Nikki, Phyllis and Victoria to keep what happened a secret and dispose of J.T.’s body, but months later when his watch and DNA evidence were discovered at Chancellor Park, his disappearance turned into a murder investigation. Yet, J.T., who had survived, began plotting revenge. He framed Victor as his killer, forcing Nikki to confess. Victoria, Sharon and Nikki were convicted of J.T.’s murder, while Phyllis went free after turning states evidence. Fortunately, Nick convinced Rey that J.T. was alive, and the women’s escape was arranged on their way to prison. They were taken to the Abbott cabin, and J.T. was lured there. Although J.T. nearly killed everyone when he ruptured a fireplace gas line, Nick, Victor and Billy rescued Nikki, Sharon and Victoria. The women were cleared of murder, and J.T. was diagnosed with a brain tumor but was sent to prison.
