Never Gonna Give You Up: Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) is still hoping Brady (Eric Martsolf) will change his tune about her.

Now that Kristen has a trump card – Dr. Rolf’s secret serum that could help Sarah walk again — she’s ready to use it to her advantage. Namely, she wants to get her hands on Titan so she can have a big win with the DiMera board and solidify her place as CEO. To that end, Sarah can have the miracle potion…. if Xander hands over his birthright. Stacy Haiduk (Kristen) chatted with Soap Opera Digest about the surprise twist and what’s driving her determined Days of our Lives character.

Soap Opera Digest: Does Kristen have any qualms about withholding this serum from poor Sarah, who’s a victim in all this?

Stacy Haiduk: She feels badly, because she knows this is a possibility for Sarah to walk again, but Kristen needs to get what she wants in return for it. She does work out a little situation with Xander saying, “I have the serum, but I’m not going to just hand it over to you unless I get what I want.” She basically stands for what she wants.

Digest: What if a deal can’t actually be bartered? Do you think she’ll do the right thing and hand the serum over?

Haiduk: Even though she feels for Sarah, at this point in time she won’t. [The serum] is all she’s got right now, and she knows she can definitely use it. Kristen knows that Dr. Rolf isn’t going to hand the serum over to somebody else, but he will hand it over to her. [At the beginning] she needs to do to help Brady. She needs him, and Rachel needs him as well. That [was] the big thing for Kristen, that Rachel needs her father. She [couldn’t] have him going to prison.

Digest: Will we see her kind of wavering back and forth between good Kristen and bad Kristen throughout this?

Haiduk: Yes. And manipulative Kristen. She’s all of the above. She’s not just bad. There’s all sides of her at this point, which is really nice. It’s nice to play as an actress too.

Digest: Now that Brady is free, is she starting to hope that it might open open the door to yet another reconciliation between the two of them?

Haiduk: Yeah. She’s hoping that maybe Brady will actually see her in another light again. Maybe in a more positive light.

Digest: That would be nice for Rachel.

Haiduk: I think so. I think Rachel deserves to have her family together. It makes her happy.

Digest: So is Kristen feeling justified with everything that she’s doing?

Haiduk: There’s a part of her that feels bad, but at the same time she does feel justified that she’s doing the right thing.

Digest: All she wants is a happy and united family.

Haiduk: I know. wouldn’t that be wonderful? Even for a day.
